Is Levonelle® One Step suitable for me?
Can I take Levonelle® One Step again?
Although there is no limit to the number of times you can take Levonelle® One Step and there is no evidence that it has long-term ill effects on your health, it is designed for emergency use only. Repeated use would be more likely to disrupt the pattern of your menstrual cycle.
Levonelle® One Step is designed for times, for example, when you have forgotten to re-start your pill at the beginning of the next pack, or you were using a condom and it split or slipped off. It can also be used if you've been taking some other medication that may have reduced the effectiveness of the Pill and you're worried about getting pregnant.
If you are sexually active, even only occasionally, the best way to take care of your health is to find out about all the contraceptive choices available and discuss with your healthcare professional or family planning clinic which one will suit you best. To find out more, visit www.contraception.co.uk.
If you have already taken Levonelle® One Step once since your last period and you now find you are pregnant, do not take Levonelle® One Step again. It does not work if you are already pregnant. If you find that you are pregnant and you don't want to be, contact your healthcare professional or family planning clinic as soon as possible.
