Is Levonelle® One Step suitable for me?
I am under 16
If you're worried about being pregnant, you may feel very anxious about what to do next. Under 16s are not permitted to buy Levonelle® One Step at a pharmacy. If you are under 16 and want to seek advice about contraception or have had a contraceptive mishap, you should seek medical advice. Emergency contraception and contraception advice is available from your GP, family planning clinic, NHS-Walk in Centre or sexual health clinic.
If your own doctor doesn't provide contraceptive services, or you don't want to go to your own doctor, visit www.fpa.org.uk (Family Planning Association) for their telephone helpline numbers. They will be able to tell you where your nearest Young Persons' Clinic is and what the opening hours are. This service covers the whole of the UK.
Usually, you don't need an appointment if you're worried about being pregnant, but it's best to phone first if you can. If it's a weekend, and everything's closed, try:
- Your own doctor's Out of Hours service
- The Accident and Emergency department of your nearest large hospital
