Is Levonelle® One Step suitable for me?

My contraception may have let me down...

Levonelle® One Step is meant for times when your usual method of contraception has let you down and you're worried that you might become pregnant.

Some of us are just unlucky. Very occasionally a condom can split or slip off during intercourse. Or you might be using a diaphragm and it develops a mysterious little hole (you know you should have replaced it ages ago, but somehow you never got round to it).

The main thing is, if you are worried about getting pregnant and you don't want to be, you can use Levonelle® One Step , as a back up.

The sooner you take it the better - ideally within 12 hours and at most 3 days (72 hours) after unprotected sex.

Levonelle® One Step should not replace regular, long-term contraception. Emergency contraception and advice on contraception is available free from your GP, Family Planning Clinic or NHS Walk-in Centre. Always read the label. Contains levonorgestrel. Not 100% effective. Levonelle® One Step can be used for up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, but it's more effective the sooner you take it.
