I have already taken Levonelle® One Step – what next?

What happens to my body when I take Levonelle® One Step?

It is very unlikely that you will have significant side effects from taking Levonelle® One Step. Most women can carry on with their day or evening as usual. If you do have a headache or feel sick, it will usually pass after a short while. It may help if you take something to eat and drink around the same time as you take the tablet.

It is unusual to get some of the side effects you might be expecting, such as serious cramps or a bad headache.

After taking Levonelle® One Step, your period might come earlier or later than usual. It can also be lighter or heavier than usual. Or, you could have some 'spotting' until your next period.

Some women who take this emergency contraceptive pill will have their period more than 5 days late. If your period is more than 5 days late, then see your healthcare professional for advice.
